Introduction to Kayaking

Learn the basic techniques and safety aspects of having fun paddling on the river. Gain the skills and confidence to be safe and experience the Murray River while paddling a kayak. This tour will include an introduction to the equipment and design, paddling skills, posture, rafting techniques, safety techniques if you were to tip over, launching and landing, as well as weather and environmental basics which you need to keep in mind while kayaking. The tour will include games, skill practice, a short journey and lots of fun.

Location: Sturt Reserve, Murray Bridge

Cost: Adult $60, children $30, family (2 adults, 2 children) $150,  Children 4 and under are free but must sit on guardians lap

Length: 2 hours

Time:  Tours commence at 10am and 1pm daily in the school holidays and on weekends during school term. All tours must be booked and confirmed prior to arriving.

Eco Kayak Wetland Tour

Experience the Wetlands of the Murray River through a paddling tour. Kayaking is one the most environmentally sensitive ways to explore and interact with the Wetlands, which are vital to the health of the river and are home to many species of native flora and fauna. Immerse yourself within nature and learn about the native wildlife and plants which are found on the river as well as about the rich culture of the Ngarrindjeri People and how we can protect this precious part of the river.

Location: Murray Bridge - Swanport reserve or Riverglades wetlands depending on the weather
